Abstract: GIZ have been committed to supporting political change in South Africa since 1992. It operates on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) and international organisations and institutions, such as the European Union. GIZ is also implementing various ambitious education programmes, focusing not only on skills development but also on youth development and the BMZ’s weltwärts volunteer programme.
