Abstract: The research unit (RU) will investigate resilience, collapse and reorganisation in complex coupled social-ecological systems (SES) in Africa. Contemporary research shows that Africa not only is the continent most comprehensively affected by global climatic change and environmental transformations, but that societies, economies and environments are also massively impacted by forces of internal mobility and differentiation, violent conflict, economic globalisation and global environmental governance. Website informs about members, projects, cooperations, events and offers a project database to archive all research data. Additionally, all pictures, presentations, publications, and reports can be included. All data is provided with accurate metadata for searching and categorization purposes. Depending on the rights and the development process of the data, the access to download the data may be restricted. [according to site editor's information, editors ilissAfrica]
