Title: Mémoire Afrique
Creator: Mémoire Afrique, Association pour la défense de l’Histoire de l’Afrique <Bamako>
Abstract: The Association Mémoire Afrique (Africa Memory) was created by the historian and former First Lady of Mali, Adame Ba Konare. It is a reaction to the infamous speach by French president Sarkozy 2007 in Dakar, Senegal, in which he defended French colonialism and claimed, Africa had only little history. As a counterstatement, Ba Konaré and other historians (from African and some other countries) published a book. The website documents the event with statements, journal articles and biographies of participating historians. Also see: [editors ilissAfrica]
