The Colonial Library contains about 18,000 monographs about colonial times as well as a great number of colonial periodicals. The content of the library can be divided into to fields: literature regarding colonialism in general (including economy, mining and mission) and literature concerning specific regions (about 40% concerning Asia, the South Seas and America; about 60% concerning Africa, half of those 60% concerning Germany and Africa).
