The French CREPAO focusses on the non-francophone African countries, especially in East and South African countries. Organisation for the promotion of computer technology in Africa through the creation of local homepages for African cities which describe local life and help localising IT in Africa. The DISA project collects historical documents on the history of South Africa (partly also of other African countries, see e.g. Oral Histories/Interviews). Among others, you will find the full text documents of more than 40 anti-Apartheid journals that are difficult to access otherwise. Unfortunately, you can only browse the collection by resource type, and not e.g.by topic or year. Nevertheless, you can also search for specific documents with keywords etc. DISA also hosts other projects, currently these are: Durban in Motion (Virtual Exhibition and Digital Archive), SAMAP (South African Musical Achricve Project, with currently five collections) and the Centre for Visual Methodology. ... In 2010 many African countries celebrate their 50 years of independance. On this occasion, the French-German TV-station Arte offers reports from / about 12 francophone African countries. Every month, a different country will be presented: one day long, you will accompany well-known personnalities of a chosen country to different places in the capital (in the form of videos).
